Damage manipulation

Damage manipulation refer to effects that alter the final value of the actual damage dealt. They are effect that change the damage amount from when the damage instance land. For example,

  • Armor, affect physical damage.
  • Magic resist, affect magical damage.
  • Templar Assassin's Refraction ability, affect all damage.

Critical strike and bonus damage (from items/buffs) is not damage manipulation effects in this manner. They only decide the damage amount of a damage instance when it is created, not when it lands and deals damage.

When damage manipulation are referred to in the wiki, only built-in effects from Dota 2 are considered, as opposed to custom-made effects from the game mod.
